ADOPTION IS COMPLICATED

I know because my life of an adoptee reflects the complication of the struggle.  You might question, how could that be, you have reached adult age.  Well, the other segment about adoption, the complexity does not go away once you become an adult.  Self-expression drives from one element, self.  The knowledge required to develop does not come along if we as adoptee’s don’t do the work!

My background entails living with four adopted siblings.  We were not related, except on paper and we lived in a small community on a farm with our adoptive parents.  We grew up learning how to farm, which became an excellent skill set for survival.

Our parents also cared for over 300 foster children during their lifetimes. We had a revolving door of unrelated temporary children who needed parents of their own.  Another priceless life lesson in blending families and daily routine.

Once I graduated from high school and attended college, and I had raised three children as a single parent; I met the love of my life.  We had a blended family as well and have married for 38 years currently, and I have to say that experience taught me so many invaluable life lessons.

I worked in the corporate environment for 35 years totally and ultimately decided to put some of my life experience forward to help others.  I attended the Professional Christian Coaching Institute to become a certified life coach.

I serve to prepare parents for the elements of adoption that coaches, adoption agencies, attorneys or consultants do not understand because they have not experienced life as an adoptee.  I know it’s complicated; every adoptee needs an advocate, someone who can see life from their perspective.
